The book of Jonah is a fascinating study in missions, that “God so loved the world”, His eye of compassion extending to the Gentile as well as the Jew. But more importantly it is a study of the God of grace, that “God so loved the world”. We find here God’s purpose of grace to all people of earth, in spite of His foot-dragging servant. He forced a reluctant preacher to proclaim an unhappy message of judgment, and thereby made His grace known in Nineveh!
This Reading Companion presents practical truths that have proven useful over the years to scores of sincere seekers of truth. Our purpose in our study of the age old truths of God’s history, poetry, and prophecy is first to understand. Then we seek to apply God’s truth to our own real life circumstances.
