This is a love story, God’s priceless take on boy-meets-girl.  In Song of Solomon we find a poetic expression of the tender love relationship between Solomon and the Shulamite girl, developing from first meet to mature marital love.  God made love, and made us to love, and to love with passion!  It’s principles for good loving and great marriages that we find here.  But as well, it’s a vital image of our loving Saviour and all of the ardour of our right response to Him.
